A bumper edition this month, featuring our calendar of exciting in-person Melting Metropolis events for London Climate Action Week 2026. Additionally, the team have been working hard on reports, podcasts, and blogs, for which you can find all the details here.

This instalment highlights our upcoming events: the Summer Solstice Festival at Saatchi Gallery, where you can see a live performance of ‘Stand of the Sun’; the launch event for Dr Chloé Duteil’s graphic novel, ‘Summer in Paris’; and the oral history interviews featured at London’s Climate Story Bank.

Our April instalment focuses on two new blog posts from Melting Metropolis team members; one detailing a summer archive project with partners in New York, and the other focusing on community engagement work in Somers Town, London.

This month, we shine a spotlight on the progress the Melting Metropolis team have made with policy engagement work. Also, a fantastic oral history community event organised by our partners in New York, plus a blog focusing on reflections from Queens College undergraduate research interns.

We kick off 2026 - and the fourth year of the Melting Metropolis project - with the announcement of a new publication, an upcoming oral history event in New York, and a blog post discussing ‘Climate Resilience’.

In our final newsletter of 2025, we have a research update from Dr Jon Winder, information about our new directive with Mass Observation, and details of STCA’s community-led climate activities (where this ‘Bring Back Shutters’ poster was created!).

We start this month with a spotlight on the research of our Geography Postdoc, Dr Rosie Knowles. Also, details of some fantastic community-based work from our colleagues in New York, a creative writing workshop for the team, and a new Storyteller on board.
